dilatation

hi doctor, I wanted to know what happens when eyes are dilated. hope to hear from you soon

We dilate eyes or pupils means we put mydriatic drops to expand the pupillary space. this is done so that we can see the retina fully with specialised equipments like binocular indirect ophthalmoscope or slitlamp biomicroscope. We can examine retina from centre to periphery. As a result you may not be able to read or write for 2 to 6 hours or look at bright light; so you may not be able to drive for the day.
